The days are getting longer

Pete and I headed out this evening at around 7.30pm to drop by his mum's.  As I walked out the door, Pete said, "Don't forget your sunglasses."

He was right.  It was evening and yet the sun was still shining brightly.  I was thankful for the shades, for the sun was in my eyes.  We were walking towards the sun.

The days are certainly getting longer.  It's already past 9.30pm and I could still see the sun behind the building in front of our apartment.  And it won't get dark before 10pm.  Sometimes, we were asleep even before it gets dark.

Just another Sweden thing I have to get used to.

  1. Be careful. I think it's actually light like 21 hours a day there during the summer. Pete claims I'm making that up, but I think he's just trying to throw me off the scent. For nocturnal animals like me it's scary!

  2. Lol Marc! I'm not nocturnal but coming from an island near the equator where sunrise and sunsets are relatively constant each day, this really takes getting used to. I guess thick, heavy curtains will help when we're indoors.

  3. In the summer here it can be almost up to 19 hrsa of sunlight, but further north it is even more. Seems that you have to come visit and see for your self :)
